I feel today that the world before me is a new map. Things have changed and I am beginning to see global as local. All day yesterday I felt as though I was connected to everyone that had ever lived's pain and suffering as this universal lesson to be greatful for the things that we often take for granted.
I awoke with this feeling of love for all that is around me and an appreciation that I have my healthy heart, mind, body, and soul. We all go through challenges sometimes and yes, bad things do happen to good people. But my question for you to ponder upon today is; if nothing bad ever happened to good people could they truly appreciate just how good they are?
Every turning point we come to is like going to a table with three identically wrapped gifts. They are all fairly large packages and the only difference is the color of the bow. In one box there is vaccuum sealed rotten fish guts. In another is a cozy silk robe. In the third there are many more boxes inside stacked like russian dolls. The smallest and most tightly wrapped box in the very bottom is a tightly wrapped bar of gold.
Obviously, no one wants the fish guts which ironically one cannot smell because of the genius wrapping and hidden deception. The silk robe, although comfortable, is clearly not the choice because ultimately it is cold out there and silk is a thin coverering of vanity. After being sadly surprised but continuing to work hard towards the final gift of the many boxes; there is a reward of rarity that can solidly further one's path.
The "blind gift test" is one that we all recieve whenever faced with finding solutions to our problems. We all know that we want the gold bar, but which box is it in? The solutions are constantly wrapped in more beautifully decieving packages each time. The choice we make determines the outcome of our crossroads.
We are all handed "golden choices" each day which could be as simple as bringing a jacket on a day when it looks slighty cloudy; so we don't get caught in the rain and complain to other people wearing rain coats all day. Or as complex as letting the ones you love learn their lessons from a distance.
Whenever you find yourself faced with a choice, take a few seconds to evaluate the continual effect of this choice. Will this burrito upset my stomache? Are the people I agree to be around truly supporting my highest path? We are all here to accomplish something in life; to live up to our true potential! If we aren't headed in that direction we need to question why and how we can turn our frown upside down!
