F is for Friendship
What is friendship?.... Friendship is like a sponge with a scrubber on one side... One side being like a sponge to soak up their inspiring words... And the other, an abrasive scrubber which represents the truth... Sometimes the truth may be rough, but in the end it cleanses the dirt and grime.
*Friendship is the universe's way of connecting us with like minded souls for the purpose of familiarity and sharing.*
Friendships are the most meaningful relationships of all. Friends are the ones whom we truly open up to. We choose to connect with these individuals outside of our bloodlines and our love interests. We choose to experience life in their company. These are the people with whom we share the most intimate secrets and desires, because they are not our lovers, and they are not our mothers.
A true friend will not judge. They will only evaluate and provide feedback for the better of your existence. A real friend will tell you the truth, no matter how hard it is to hear. When it comes to the hard truth, a friend will be aware of whether or not you are only hearing them or actually listening.... To hear versus to listen makes all the difference in the world. Hearing goes in one ear and out the other; i.e. you hear a train speed pass as you walk down the street with ear buds in. Yet you are listening to the music lyric for lyric pumping from those ear buds, stepping in stride to the beat as the train goes by.
Realizing this difference may make a change in how you converse with those around you. It will cause you to slow down; and take everything in that the person has to say to you. When we slow down, and can truly soak up the point of every statement, we are able to open ourselves up to a new perspective.
A friend is a person with whom we chose to connect, no one can force you to be friends with anyone.
The next time a friend has something to say; please listen, and soak up all that the words they speak. Allow yourself to be like the "friendship sponge", take in all the loving moisture the "friendship faucet" turns towards you... Use that moisture to clean the area around you... Sometimes that requires facing the truth, owning up to your faults, and being honest. No matter how thick the layer of grime is on a situation, the "scrubber" side of your friendship will provide you the confidence you need to clean up any situation... Your real friends care for you and only wants to see you flourish in all of your glory. So enjoy the connection, and truly appreciate all that friendship stands for.
I write this today with gratefulness for all of the wonderful friends the universe has laid in my lap. You all keep me in balance with myself, and with my karma (LOL). We were drawn together for the purpose of familiarity within one's human experience, we are meant to be friends. I LOVE ALL OF YOU!
I wouldn't have it any other way!
